ARTHOUSE Gallery is proud to present the art exhibition urba(n)ation2 at ARTHOUSE Gallery on the historic R Street corridor in Sacramento, November 8 – December 1, 2018.
The artwork of Robert-Jean Ray (Sacramento) and Ryan Bucko (Oakland) will be featured in the exhibit, urba(n)ation2 at ARTHOUSE Gallery, 1021 R Street in Sacramento, from November 8 through December 1. The opening reception is Second Saturday, November 10, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
In the exhibition urba(n)ation2, Ryan Bucko (Oakland) and Robert-Jean Ray (Sacramento) explore the dynamics of the urban environment.
Ray’s goal is to merge linear depictions of the human form with collage compositions inspired by urban street graphics. Influenced by early and late 20th century German and Italian expressionism, his work consists primarily of diminutively sized artwork with strong visual impact.
Bucko’s work explores the juxtaposition between abstract expressionism and architecture. In the pursuit of reducing geometry and abstraction to their purest forms, his fusing of the two aesthetics continues to evolve. The structured line hovers over the nonobjective, creating a third dimension that shifts in relation to light and the viewer’s perception.
