Six printmakers take the challenge from show curator, Vinay Sharma, to think outside the typical framed image format for this exhibit and defy traditional printmaking norms. The show unites three printmakers from the Bay Area and three from the Sacramento region. thINK opens at ARTHOUSE, 1021 R Street, Sacramento, CA on Saturday June 10 with a reception at 5:00 p.m.
ARTHOUSE Gallery is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Vinay Sharma will show large-scale lithographs on Japanese rice paper.
Taylor Gutermute has combined her sheet metal sculpture skills with various printmaking techniques to create unique 2D and 3D pieces.
Katherine Venturelli will be showing her 3D books that take unusual forms including the Turkish map fold structure with pop out elements.
Tesia Blackburn has created large-scale prints that are up to eight feet tall.
Ellen Markoff uses exemplary color combinations to create non-objective organic forms.
Tina Pressler combines geometric forms with the fluid monotype process.
