The boundaries of Yosemite National Park envelope more than 1,200 square miles of wilderness, including monolithic granite faces, lush grasslands, magnificent forests, tranquil lakes, and thundering waterfalls. All beckoning, it would seem, to be captured in a photograph to treasure and revisit. It is because of this beauty and grandeur that Yosemite is one of the most photographed national parks in our country.
To celebrate this legacy, Viewpoint is presenting an open call juried exhibit featuring 60 stunning images. Through the open call process 385 photos were submitted from photographers across the country, with 60 being selected for the gallery walls. The juror is well-know fine art photographer Kerik Kouklis who has been teaching in, and photographing Yosemite for many years.
Some of the images will offer unexpected views of the park we all know and love, and others will capture the familiar beauty and sacred tranquility we experience each time we enter this treasured park.
